[eclipse-poky] Eclipse plugin development on timo/maven

Hi All,
There *is* a poky.launch configuration already in org.yocto.sdk.releng/launches/poky.launch. If you open Run/Debug... you will see poky as one of the Eclipse applications. On linux you can simply run/debug this launch config and it will start a baby eclipse (Brian's term) with the Yocto plugins running.
One thing I realized, however, is that this launch config won't work on windows. This is not an immediate concern, but we will need to deal with it. In fact, the target definitions that we have also won't work on windows. One question for discussion: do we want to have separate target definition files for OS/archs...e.g. linux/x86_64, win32/x86_64? Along those lines...do we need/want to support all of mac, linux, win X x86_32, x86_64?
In any event Paul...you should be able to launch on linux with the poky.launch.
Scott

Hi Paul
When running in Eclipse there is a thing called a launch configuration to launch a set of projects in workspace.
I will create a launch configuration (an xml file really) and send it to Tim to add to timo/maven. It's possible to create your own (new Eclipse Application in run/debug), but it will be easier for all of us if we share a common one, at least to start.
I'll create this launch configuration tomorrow am and add it to the releng project.

Hi folks,
So I've set up the eclipse-poky project set as described in the timo/maven branch README.dev and got past the initial errors (thanks Scott for the pointer on how to do that). If you'll excuse the silly question, what's the correct way to run this now? I tried right clicking on the project -> Run As -

downloaded a whole bunch of things and then seemed to stall cloning into the "docs" directory. I did not see "Eclipse application" that the Eclipse documentation suggested I should see. Any pointers would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul
