[linux-yocto] Using a pre-build kernel

All,
I'm reasonably experienced with Yocto but I'm now challenged with building
an image while leveraging an existing Linux kernel binary (not built in
Yocto).
I'll soon be provided with this kernel to use and I'm told it's version
3.10 but with some modification to support the customers hardware. For
whatever reason, the customer is unwilling/unable to provide us with
information on the modification and insists that we simply "re-use" their
existing kernel.
So, we must build out the user space and applications on top of the
customized kernel, using Yocto 2.4.3 (*hopefully, we can*).
I couldn't find anything specific to this scenario in the Yocto
documentation.
Do you have any recommendations on an approach I should take or an example
to follow?
Thanks,
-Alan
