[linux-yocto] Using a pre-build kernel

Trevor (reply-to-all),

I see. So a custom recipe inherited from bin_package to get the image
included.
But would I then need (in local.conf) :
    PREFERRED_PROVIDER_virtual/kernel = "linux-dummy"
to avoid BitBake attempting to build one?
And would setting PREFERRED_VERSION_linux-yocto to the kernel version of my
binary kernel image provide the rest of the build system knowledge of what
version my kernel was? Or, is there a better way?

Thanks,
-Alan
