Have you checked dram settings?
Again checked DRAM settings?
There are patches to upload u-boot to SPL via serial line. So you can try
to load stuff to dram.
Another option is a HW debugger like the abatron bdi or peedi or a segger.

I had ported mainline u-boot to seco A62 a while ago had no issues except
dram settings.
