I'm new to this ML, so this is a new thread (I was going to reply to Mike about our http://sourceforge.net/p/elphel/ezynq/ project).
Initially we planned to include custom fsbl.elf for our custom hardware (camera we are working on), but the legal status was unclear (I asked on the forum http://forums.xilinx.com/t5/Embedded-Linux/Licensing-distribution-of-the-software-for-the-Zynq-based-system/td-p/346369 ) and we tried to see if it will be possible to run the Zynq-based system (PS only) using just Free Software.

We used a MicroZed board and were able to run U-boot and boot Linux (so far we used device tree, rootfs and kernel that came with the board), but there are some known issues (listed in README), I also did not yet implement board delays for the DDR - I could not see this data in the ps7_init* files generated with the Xilinx tools, so this will need some work.

Having access to the code on all levels, it may worth moving some of the initialization around - from the bootloader to the kernel driver - right where the peripheral is going to be used.

We will continue work on this project when our hardware will be ready (just received the blank PCBs) and we will maintain it as a part of our distribution for the camera, we hope it will be interesting for other developers working with devboards or new hardware, and while not finished, this project is ready for testing.

We also started http://sourceforge.net/p/elphel/meta-ezynq , we are new to OE so the recepies may be not optimal.

Andrey
