Hmmm, I must have missed that memo (and based on an email I received, I
am not alone).

This is very, very confusing. The Github copy is on the official Xilinx
account and has no indication it is orphaned. Can someone with commit
privileges on the Xilinx account update the README to point at the
maintained version of the layer?

Fortunately, layers.openembedded.org steers people to the maintained
version.
