Thought I'd share this... we were use to yocto creating the artifacts we
could write directly to block devices. So I created a class which bundles
the low-level boot products into a fat partition, then the rootfs as a
second partition.

It's still rough so I have not integrated to any current machine, but    
we've been using it on a customized zedboard machine for a while with great
success.
