[meta-xilinx] New Issue with UBI/QSPI in linux-xlnx 2017.3

I just updated my kernel from linux-xlnx 2017.2 tag to the 2017.3 tag. I'm 
using the master branch of meta-xilinx, meta-xilinx-tools, and the 
rel-v2017.3 tag of meta-petalinux.

Prior to the update, I had a fully functional system supporting boot from 
a UBI partition containing three volumes. After this update my board 
(ZCU102) fails to boot, showing what looks like completely garbled data 
dumped out during boot. The boot log follows:

Is there any known explanation for this change in behavior? I've posted 
previously on the Xilinx community forums, this mailing list, and on 
Xilinx SR's regarding a variety of problems with the QSPI hardware, the 
accompanying driver, and the spi-nor layer support on the ZCU102. I'm 
expecting this to be yet  another Xilinx kernel driver issue. Can anyone 
point me in the right direction here so I can avoid another week-long 
kernel debug session?
