[meta-xilinx] Patching u-boot by adding custom defconfig files

Hi guys,

Thanks a lot for previous help. I'm wondering how you're supposed to go
about adding the header file and defconfig for u-boot to compile from for a
custom board. Specifically, I do this right now by adding patch files

but this is somewhat a pain to manage since if I want to edit or change
things, I have to re-update the patch. It would make a lot more sense to
just append these files in SRC_URI correctly, and have u-boot pick them up.
Is there an example, or how should I do this?
