[Toaster] intermediate toaster-1.6.1 branch until master is open?

Hi all,

Should we, while we wait for 1.6 to release and master becomes unfrozen, have a designated branch for our 1.6.1 patches so that we do not have to manually and individually maintain multiple cherry-picked branches?

When do we anticipate master opening again? I assume 4/27/14, the day after 1.6 is released.
