Hmm,

And we do not want to apply a search filter since I presume the context and nearby tasks is important.

My proposal is that we add a test that looks for the anchor when requested in the URL after the pagination, and refetch the next page(s) until we find it. This is expensive if it ends up on a later page, but it is a special request and it is important for the customer experience to not fail.

I don't think it is doable. I do not see a way to calculate the page the task appears on, as the order numbering is not consecutive.
