[Toaster] Toaster weekly call notes (4th February)

Before the notes, my apologies: I forgot to send the invite for this call
earlier today. If you don't see an invite, the meeting is probably still
happening, so please call in if you are so inclined. All welcome.

We were: Mihail, AlexD, Paul, Michael and Belén

Weekly update:

Mihail: working on full-pass testing. QA are opening bugs today and
tomorrow. Mihail still has test cases to write for new features. Hoping to
get to that soon.

Scott: Has been working on the Toaster manual. A draft is available for
review at

http://www.yoctoproject.org/docs/1.8/toaster-manual/toaster-manual.html

although it's still at an early stage: there are some questions in it and
also some big gaps.

Alex: loads of bug fixing, between them working on how layers are queried

Michael: working on the all machines page, which should be done by the end
of the week.

Paul: Toaster was at the OE stand in FOSDEM. He showed it to a couple of
people.

Belén: brought Toaster to FOSDEM and did some showing with Paul on
Saturday. Working mainly on reviewing implementation work and some small
bug fixes.

Opens:

* New Daemon dependency. One of the bug fixes landing in master has
introduced a new requirement: Daemon

http://www.libslack.org/daemon/

This program is not in the default Fedora repositories, so it is hard to
find for Fedora users. The dependency is temporary, and we have an issue
in Bugzilla open to remove the dependency in 1.9. But in the meantime, QA
has suggested to include information on where to get Daemon in the
requirements check that is currently in place. Mihail will open an
enhancement and assign it to Alex.

* Documentation strategy. After some discussion, we have agreed to the
following

- The Toaster manual should be listed with all the other project manuals
- Content already in the manual will be taken away from the wiki, which
will become a place for last minute issues / changes / requirements that
are not in the Toaster manual.
- We will remove the Toaster manual page from the website. We will keep
the UI videos, but they will be linked to from the Toaster page in the
"Internal projects" section
- We will look into embedding the videos in the html version of the
Toaster manual, or linking to them at least

Labelling issues in Toaster: QA raised the issue that 'All layers', 'All
targets' and 'All machines' don't really convey what those pages are
about. They have suggested to change the labels to "All available layers"
and so on. Belén will send a patch for that.
