[Toaster] Updated version of Toaster manual available

Sorry, sent too soon :-/

Toaster setup gaps in the 1.8 documentation.

1) "New Daemon dependency"

This dependency on "daemon" is still in Toaster, and I do not see a bug to remove that (there was a vote to postpone it to YP-1.9), so I think that it is now a hard dependency.

The problem is that this is not yet covered in your documentation.

Here is the link to the source. The documentation is there describing how you download it, configure and compile it, and then install it. The only gap in their instructions is that you need to use "sudo" to do the actual "make install".

   http://www.libslack.org/daemon/

FYI, here is the note from our Wed 2/4/2015 10:14 AM meeting: "This program is not in the default Fedora repositories, so it is hard to find for Fedora users. The dependency is temporary, and we have an issue in Bugzilla open to remove the dependency in 1.9. But in the meantime, QA has suggested to include information on where to get Daemon in the requirements check that is currently in place. Mihail will open an enhancement and assign it to Alex."

2) "2.2. Establishing Toaster System Dependencies"

I found this section confusing, so you may want to touch base with Alex on it.

  (a) It appears to me that you either do #1 and #2 (the "virtualenv" way), OR you do #3 (the "pip" way), but not all three. The enumeration contradicts the text.

  (b) It you do the "virtualenv" way, how do you get host dependencies listed in "bitbake/toaster-requirements.txt"? It looks to me a step is missing there.

  (c) If you do "pip" way, then you will realize that there are no instructions on how to install "pip". I have used a couple of different methods. I am not sure the official way.

BTW, Here is the way I installed "pip" today with Ubuntu-14:

  $ sudo apt-get install python-pip

Here is another method I have used in the past:

   $ wget https://raw.github.com/pypa/pip/master/contrib/get-pip.py
   $ python2.7 get-pip.py
