[Yocto-builds] buildbot failure in The Yocto Autobuilder on nightly-arm

So just to be clear about what is happening, we attempted to build danny
on the new autobuilder code and it exploded badly. There will be more
sanity related failure emails.

I've backported a number of fixes for these issues from master and we'll
try again when the current build completes and we've swept the
autobuilder for rogue processes.
